Scholarship Requirements
- Each application must be accompanied by a supporting letter from the student’s major professor, department head, high school guidance counselor or teacher, in the event the student has yet to enter college.
- All individuals will be judged solely, on their qualifications and their application materials without bias with regards to sex, religion, race, national origin, marital status, age or political affiliation.
- The Eastern Shore Western Horse Show Association requires a written report from the scholarship recipient regarding the use of the scholarship such as a transcript or a paid invoice.
- The Eastern Shore Western Horse Show Association reserves the right not to award a scholarship in the case of no qualified entries.
- The deadline for submitting application and all materials is October 1st.
- Applicants may apply year after year providing the student remains currently enrolled in a higher education institution.
Criteria For Selection
- The recipient should be actively enrolled in a higher education institution.
- The recipient must have shown on the ESWHSA circuit for at least two (2) years.
- The recipient must have experience raising and exhibiting horses.
- Completed application form.
- A letter of support from a professor or advisor
- Documentation of involvement in the equine industry.
- For example, a letter from show superintendent, judge, 4-H leader, or FFA advisor.

- A one-page essay as described on the application form.
- Official transcripts (High School or College)
